Zeishan Quadri reacts to Shalini Chaudhary’s allegations: She and her son’s kidnapped and assaulted me, demanded 26 lakhs – Exclusive | Hindi Movie News
Shalini Chaudhary has accused you of threatening her, stealing from her and selling off her luxury car without her knowledge.
Shalini Chaudhary’s allegations are false. She has only spoken about everything that allegedly happened, she has neither shown any evidence nor given any proof. I met her in 2018, while working on Crime Patrol. Then we worked together on Halahal. On October 27, 2020, I returned whatever payment I owed to her and got a confirmation from her son on the same through a text message that said, all dues are clear. He replied OK to that message. I have the bank statements to prove it. After that I have not had any monetary transaction with her.
It was in June-July that we first spoke of her car. She was the one who asked me to help her sell her car. At first I wanted to buy her car, but once I drove it, I couldn’t make sense of it’s functions. That’s when I asked her to take her car back. She was the one who insisted that I keep it. She said she has 1 or 2 other cars, too. She asked my help in getting them sold as well. She said she needed money.
I knew of a local dealer, from whom I’d bought a Harley Davidson many years ago. Since Shalini too had a Harley, apart from her Audi A4, I connected her to the dealer.
Are you saying that Shalini’s accusations are a lie?
She is lying. She asked me to sell her car. One of my acquaintances agreed to buy the car and he gave Shalini two cheques. One cheque of 6 lakhs (self-cheque) and another of 13 lakhs. The name written on the cheque was Rajbala Chaudhary. Why was that name on the cheque? Because the name on the RC (registration certificate of the alleged car) was Rajbala Chaudhary. The name on Aadhar Card was Rajbala Chaudhary. Shalini’s name is Rajbala Chaudhary.
If you purchase a car from someone, on whose name would you sign a cheque? On the name that is mentioned on the RC and Aadhar, right? That’s what the person who purchased the car from her did. For the self-cheque of 6 lakhs, her son called me and said the cheque is not getting honoured at the bank. I asked him why is that? He said, the person who has issued the cheque needs to be present. I promised to talk to the buyer. That party transferred the money to me and I transferred it to Shalini. It was an amount of 5,75,000. The cheque was dated for November 9. Amounts of 1,75,000 and 4,00,000 were transferred to her on 11th and 12th November respectively. I told them to return the cheque of 6 lakhs and take 25,000 in cash. Her son agreed. But neither her son nor she ever came to complete that transaction.
How did the situation escalate into this unpleasant scenario?
I started getting calls from them, telling me that their car was getting sold at 26 lakhs. I told them that you have sold the car. At whatever amount the other person is selling it ahead, he won’t pay you in return. That’s when Shalini started threatening me. I have voice notes on WhatsApp. Then she also accused me saying that I don’t pick up her calls. She started sending me abuses on WhatsApp voice notes. So, I blocked her number. She filed a complaint against me at Malad police station on January 9. I got a call from the police station on the same day. I told them that I have mild COVID symptoms, so I won’t be able to come to the police station on the same day. I asked for 10 days time. The IO, Sunil Kengar said, ‘Okay, no issues. Come after 10 days’. I called him on January 23 and informed him that I was feeling okay. I asked him if I can come over to the police station? Kengar told me come to the police station on January 25.
On the night of January 24, at Aroma Café in Oshiwara, where I usually have my work meetings, Shalini Chaudhary arrived at 7 pm with her sons Sameer and Sahil, her brother Yogesh and another man. They kidnapped me and assaulted me. They took me to the Love & Latte cafe on Lokhandwala backroad. There, they got me out of the car and assaulted me. Then, they finally took me to my home and ask me for 16 lakhs for the car and 10 lakhs for Halahal. I refused. I asked them why should I pay 10 lakhs for Halahal when the work happened on no-profit-no-loss basis. I had already faced losses on that project. Then why and for what reason would I pay them 10 lakhs? They said, “Dena padega. Tujhe abhi kam maara hai. Sau thappad aur maarte toh kaisa lagta? (You’ll have to pay. We’ve not beaten you up enough. If we slapped you a 100 times, how would that feel?)” Her son made a video recording of this incident on a mobile, in which they made me accept the dues. But they didn’t know that I have CCTV cameras at home with sound. All of what they did and said was recorded and I have the footage.
I forgot to mention one thing. When they took me to Love & Latte and were assaulting me, they had called IO Sunil Kengar too. They said, “Sir, humne isey utha liya hai. Isko kahan leke aana hai? (We’ve picked him up. Where should we bring him?)” Sunil Kengar scolded them saying, “Madam aap aise kisi ko nahin utha sakte. Meri ussey baat hui hai, woh kal aane wala hai. Aap uske saath aisa kyun kar rahe ho? (Madam, you can’t just kidnap someone I’ve spoken to him. He’s going to come over to the police station tomorrow. Why are you doing this to him?)” So, she cut the call.
How did you escape and what happened next?
The next day, on January 25, I had to go to the Malad police station. I reached there and asked what the complaint was. The complaint they had filed said, “Zeeshan mere ghar aaya, serial aur show ki baat karte-karte, chai peete hue woh chupchaap se bina bole gaadi ki chaabi uthaya aur gaadi leke bhaag gaya (Zeeshan came home and while talking about the show and serial, while sipping tea, he quietly picked up the car keys and drove off with the car).” I told Sunil Kengar that it’s an blatant lie. I gave him all sale letters signed by Shalini, along with Aadhar Card, PAN card, and all the cheques. I also showed him the account transfer of the self-cheque amount. Sunil Kengar called Shalini and told her that her complaint was wrong and that she was levelling false allegations against me. He told her that he would close the file.
Did you feel that was the end of that chapter? What did you do next?
I was under so much trauma because that was the first time in my life that I faced a situation like this. I was clueless about what to do. It took me around 10 days to recover from whatever they had done to me. Then I decided, I would definitely file a complaint against them. I registered a complaint against them at the Oshiwara Police Station on February 11. And I registered the complaint at Oshiwara Police Station because it was near Aroma Café from where they had kidnapped me. I also registered a complaint with the ACP, DCP, and CP on the same day. The case was assigned to inspector Amar Patil. He took statements from me and from the eye witnesses at the café. That inquiry is still going on. I believe that the results will be out soon.
How did Shalini react to your complaints?
I didn’t get any calls from Shalini after that. In April, she sent my father a WhatsApp voice note saying, “Uncle, maine Zeeshan ke bharose pe sale letter sign kar ke de diya aur ab dekho yeh mere paise nahin dila raha aur har jagah thane mein leke ghoom raha hai ke Shalini Ji ne gaadi mere naam kar di.” My father asked me what the matter was. In March, I was in Dhanbad because my mother suffered a heart attack. I told my father those people were blackmailing me. They want 26 lakhs instead of 13 lakhs. It’s a matter of extortion. I told my father that I had already filed a complaint against them. After I return to Mumbai from Dhanbad, I would pursue the case further.
In July, I got a call that another complaint had been filed against me with the former IO Sunil Kengar at Malad Police Station. I was summoned. I wasn’t in Bombay at that time, so my lawyer went to the police station and asked about the complaint. It was a totally different story this time. It read, “Main inke paas pahuncha ke hum log saath mein kaam karte hain. Mere paas meetings mein jaane ke liye gaadi nahin hai toh aap apni gaadi de do.” The same woman filed two different complaints at the same police station. My lawyer presented my side. But those people finally filed a case against me. We showed all the proofs to the court. The court’s order is expected on September 7.
If the law is taking its course, why did Shalini come forward and make her allegations public?
I have a Range Rover and a Verna. Why would I take somebody else’s car? Secondly, she’s saying that I took her car and ran away. In her latest YouTube video, she’s sitting with both the cheques that I had given to her. If someone is giving you a cheque, they will take something from you on that behalf, no? I got a sale letter signed from her. She signed it because she got the cheque, no? Otherwise, why would she receive the cheque? I have the proof that she sent the recording to my father as well. No one else could send a voice note from her number by mimicking her voice. She has been sending these recordings. She signed, not just the sale letter, but the photocopy of Aadhar Card and PAN card. I have provided everything to the court.
When they were sitting at my home, it is recorded in the camera, telling me that I have to pay them. We can assault you again too. This is just the beginning. When they were called to Oshiwara Police Station to give their statements, they never went.
What is the status of the case right now?
The Dindoshi court order is due on September 7.
Why do you think Shalini Chaudhary has levelled such serious allegations against you?
They’re trying to make a name for themselves by tarnishing my image.
When and how did you first meet Shalini?
I was new to film and television production. I had done bits of Savadhan India and then I did Crime Patrol. Shalini and I had a common friend named, Anna. He introduced me to Shalini saying that she also wanted to get into production. Anna suggested we invest together and work together. She invested 24 lakhs in two of my episodes. I returned 26 lakhs to her with a profit of 2 lakhs.
Then we made Halahal. It was a small film. I told her that there won’t be profits in that film. She agreed but maintained there should be no loss either and that she will need a credit on the film. I agreed. I returned her investment of 30 lakhs as well as gave her the credit, which is on records.
What’s their prayer at court?
Breach of trust. That I have betrayed them and run away with their car. What amazes me is that the same person has filed two different complaints, one in January and other in July, at the same police station. But the police haven’t cross-checked that.
