Taylor Swift cheers Chiefs’ Travis Kelce against N.Y. Jets amid rumored romance

Taylor Swift returned to New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, this time in the stands rather than onstage to cheer on her apparent new squeeze, NFL tight end Travis Kelce.

She was seen on camera arriving just before 8 p.m. Sunday in advance of the 8:20 p.m. kickoff.

Crossover fans of all ages tuned in to the Chiefs-Jets game.

“My daughter wants to get homework done early, so we can all watch ‘NYJets vs Swifties,’ tweeted MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle. “I AM DEAD.”

“Omg, I think my very-elderly dad is a new Swiftie,” tweeted another user. “Oh Lord, if only I can get him to eat his vegetables first.”

Local Swifties became NFL converts as well, buying tickets and tailgating outside the stadium in the hours leading up to the game, as NorthJersey.com reported.

Some of them donned “Swift 89” jerseys in commemoration of the year both she and Kelce were born, plus heralding the rerelease of her “1989” album, due later this month. Ticket prices spiked by 18% as fans flocked to snag a possible glimpse of their pop idol, USA Today reported.

Taylor’s jaw dropped when Kelce’s Chiefs made their first touchdown just after 8:30 p.m. She could be seen throwing her arms around fellow spectators, an entourage that included Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.

“That’s him!” Swift could be seen saying early in the game, pointing out Kelce to her companions. By the end of the night, with the teams locked in a tie, Swift’s expression was more sober. She could be seen with her arm around his mother, who had just arrived from cheering on her other son, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, in that team’s home game against the Washington Commanders.

The 12-time Grammy winner herself had graced the stage in East Rutherford, N.J., in May for her Eras Tour.

While Swift and Kelce have been tightlipped about any romance, the singer was seen enthusiastically cheering for the tight end from his private luxury box at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City last Sunday alongside his parents as the Chiefs trounced the Chicago Bears 41-10. Photos of her jumping up and grinning went viral, and the two are rumored to be “excited about where things are headed,” an insider recently told Entertainment Tonight.

That seemed borne out as after the Bears game, with the 33-year-old singer reportedly sitting on Kelce’s lap during a private dinner he threw after the victory. They also held hands, sources said.

Since then, rumors have swirled about Swift’s potential attendance at Sunday’s game. She turned heads in New York City the night before the game as she and several girlfriends stepped out to dinner at Emilio’s Ballato, an Italian restaurant, People reported. The party included Sophie Turner, Blake Lively and Swift’s older sister Robyn. Also along for the four-hour dinner was Brittany Mahomes, who is married to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
