Nicki Minaj has taken her feud with Megan Thee Stallion to a new diss track.
The “Pink Friday 2” rapper has been fired up since Megan dropped her song “Hiss” last Friday.
Megan’s song is a direct message to her critics, with the the Houston native coming out swinging in the intro saying, “I’m finna get this s–t off my chest and lay it to rest.”
In one line she references Megan’s Law, which is the name of the United States federal law that requires law enforcement to make information available to the public about registered sex offenders.
“These h–s don’t be mad at Megan, these h–s mad at Megan’s Law. I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” the 28-year-old says in the song.
Many speculated this line was a reference to Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a registered sex offender.
In 1995, Petty was convicted of attempted first-degree rape tied to a 1994 assault that happened when both he and the victim were 16, according to USA Today.
In July 2022, Petty was sentenced to three years of probation and a year of in-home detention after pleading guilty to failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020.
While the Grammy award-winning singer didn’t name names in the song, the line sent Minaj into a fiery rage online. She took to Instagram Live and X, formerly Twitter, to slam the “Savage” singer all weekend long.
Among other names, the Grammy-nominated Minaj called Megan a “flop” and a “pathological and manipulative liar.”
“You bringing up 30-year-old tea from when this man was a 15-year-old child. You bringing up 30-year-old tea cause no man will ever f—ing love you, and lying on your dead mother,” the 41-year-old Minaj said on a live stream in one of her rants.
Megan’s mother died in 2019 from brain cancer.
“You let everyone be thrown under the bus,” Minaj said in a video posted to X . “You let DaBaby be thrown under the bus, Tory, your best friend, your mom. You better go conjure up your mother and apologize. That’s disgusting.”
The “Starships” singer made reference to Tory Lanez, who, in December 2022, was found guilty of shooting and wounding Megan.
Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, testified that Lanez fired a gun at the back of her feet and shouted for her to dance as she walked away from an SUV they were riding in after leaving a pool party at Kylie Jenner’s home in the Hollywood Hills.
She had to have surgery to remove bullet fragments. In 2023, Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was sentenced to 10 years behind bars.
On Sunday night, Minaj dropped the song “Big Foot,” in response to Megan.
“Big foot, but you still a small fry. Swearin’ on your dead mother when you lie,” Minaj raps. “Bad b—-, she like six foot, I call her Big Foot. The b—- fell off, I said, ‘Get up on your good foot.'”
It’s unclear what sparked the beef between the two women as they previously collaborated on the 2019 hit “Hot Girl Summer.”
Fans have speculated that their fallout was due to Megan collaborating with Cardi B for the 2020 single “Wap.” Cardi B and Minaj have been famously feuding for years.
Following the release of her single, Megan appeared on The Breakfast Club radio show, but kept mum about the subject of her verses.
“Every time one of these mother——s uses Megan Thee Stallion name, they get 24 hours of attention,” she said. “I’m saying, a hit dog gon’ holler. That’s it. Whoever feel it, feel it.”
So far Megan hasn’t publicly addressed Minaj’s comments.
The only seemingly response was a photo of her laughing posted to her Instagram story which was posted shortly after Minaj’s livestream.
On Monday, Megan posted more “Hiss” promotional content to Instagram.
