This past March, Disneyland quietly began taking reservations for its newest hotel accommodations, a new section of its signature resort called The Villas at Disneyland Hotel. When it opens in September, the tower will add 340 rooms to Disneyland’s on-property offerings, which see significant demand despite their high prices.
But there’s a catch: When it opens, it’s going to be pretty hard to get into.
The hotel tower is part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC), a timeshare-type ownership program where members purchase points they then use to book rooms (referred to as “villas” by Disney) at DVC hotels around the world. Buy-in can cost tens of thousands of dollars; for those who can afford it, it’s like prepaying for a decade of Disney vacations and getting five decades’ worth of trips out of the investment.

Regular guests who don’t belong to Disney Vacation Club can book the rooms, but fewer will be open to the public than are set aside for members. They will also be more expensive than rooms at Disney’s Grand Californian, Disneyland’s highest-priced hotel. The villas will offer smaller “duo” rooms that sleep two, which range from $560 to $860 per night, depending on the date and the view, according to MiceChat. A “deluxe studio” sleeps four and ranges from $748 to $1,165. One-bedroom suites sleep five and top out at $1,754; two-bedroom suites sleep nine and can cost up to $2,552.
One- and two-bedroom villas will feature “Fantasia” and “The Princess and the Frog” themes.
The grandest of all the grand accommodations in the hotel is a two-story, three-bedroom suite that’s “Moana” and “Frozen” themed. That option can cost up to $5,846 per night. Both the Disneyland Hotel and the Grand Californian currently offer themed suites that cost thousands per night, like the princess-themed Fairytale Suite.

“The Villas at Disneyland Hotel celebrates the iconic legacy of Disney storytelling and the creative process,” according to the DVC website. Rooms will include decor inspired by animated films like “The Jungle Book,” “The Princess and the Frog,” and “Sleeping Beauty.” The tower will also have a separate pool apart from the hotel’s existing pool complex, which has Monorail-themed waterslides.
