Monaco’s Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo Offers Stunning Design Elements And Luxurious Service

There are no shortages of five-star properties in Monte-Carlo. However, guests looking for an intimate and very special experience will be wowed with the aesthetics and special moments crafted by the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo. The property was originally built in the Belle Époque style in 1886. It has been renovated several times and now embodies stunning design elements and modern touches. Upon entering, it is hard not to be impressed by the central floral sculpture that changes with the season. Look a little further and you will be further enticed by the garden view.

Guests will be additionally impressed with the pool area which was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and is known as the Odyssey. This outdoor area features a unique fresco-styled glass installation around the heated sea-water pool portraying Ulysses’ journey. You can also find beautifully curated gardens, private cabanas, a pool house and a terrific place for lunch al fresco. Favorite choices include tomato gazpacho, purple artichoke salad and perfectly cooked sea bass with zucchini flowers. The lemon tart is a popular dessert.

For a truly spectacular meal, make sure to reserve a dinner spot at Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac. Cussac is a Michelin-star chef, who has developed a creative, Mediterranean inspired menu using only the highest quality ingredients. It is almost impossible to choose among the delicious offerings and Cussac has come up with an ingenious solution. You can choose the “Fine Bouchées” tasting menu and choose 13 perfectly sized dishes of your choice. These include sea bream tartare with caviar cannelloni, lobster ravioli and lamb cutlets with chickpeas. An order of the chef’s mashed potatoes in a must-try side dish. The dessert trolley is filled to the brim with treats and here again, it is easy to order just a small taste of a few items. As an aside, the open kitchen is filled with light and art and is another testament to the hotels’ commitment to aesthetics.

Before dinner, you might want to visit the hotel’s well-equipped gym. But another wellness option is an afternoon at the Spa Metropole by Givenchy. The new spa was unveiled just five years ago and is decorated in shades of black, white and gold and contains a wall of digital vegetation. The treatment rooms feature embossed walls that evoke the lace of Haute Couture gowns and include a double suite and a single suite equipped with a bath and private hammam. The spa also features a sauna, hammam, caldarium, and ice fountain. The massages and facial treatments are excellent, and each begin with a visit to the Atelier de Givenchy fragrance collection for a quick olfactory treat.

Keeping with its commitment to enhancing all of your senses, the Metropole de Monte Carlo also has an in-house music pro who has designed a relaxing and modern soundtrack. Béatrice Ardisson serves as the hotel’s sound designer and she has curated the music played in the public areas with a nod to Riviera glamor.

And in case you were wondering, the rooms and suites are large, extremely comfortable and feature floor-to-ceiling windows and small terraces. For the ultimate splurge, reserve the Prestige Suite. Situated on the top floor, this suite features a terrific view, a bedroom, dressing room and living room and a large terrace with deck chairs and a terrific view that will make you want to linger. If you are traveling with children in the summer months, they will be welcomed in the KClub, where child-sized treats and activities are designed for fun. And anytime of year, families can enjoy the specially designed children’s suites.
