How You Rent This Entire Italian Village – And Its Castle – For A Big Group Holiday In 2023

If you’re thinking of planning a group vacation in 2023, why not rent a whole hilltop village in Italy for a trip to remember?

The entire hamlet of Petritoli in Le Marche region in central Italy is available for hire, and it’s not as expensive as you might expect.

The village is offered as a package, complete with a variety of accommodation and attractions.

If you’re interested, start phoning around friends because Petritoli can accommodate up to 200 guests.

Stay in one of Italy’s most beautiful villages

Petritoli is not an abandoned town. In fact, around 2,500 residents live in the hilltop village.

When you holiday here, you can get a taste of real rural Italian life and interact with local people and businesses.

During the day, meander the mainly pedestrianized streets and stop for a morning coffee and pastry in the bar or an afternoon ice cream at the gelateria.

The medieval settlement has also been designated as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Wandering the winding cobblestone streets, you’ll stumble across ancient towers, Roman wine cellars and a 17th-century convent.

Peek in at the Baroque theater dell’Iride with its sumptuous interior of red velvet upholstery and ornate columns.

How can you rent this Italian village?

Around a decade ago, the community of Petritoli decided to offer their tourist accommodation in a unique way in a bid to bring more visitors to one of Italy’s lesser-known regions.

The villagers chose to rent out the various guest rooms and communal spaces as a single package rather than making them available for booking individually.

All of Petritoli’s accommodation, therefore, is booked together, and there’s enough space for 200 guests.

The rooms are scattered throughout the village in different structures. These include B&Bs in historic houses, elegant hotels and a spectacular castle.

The castle is replete with 37 bedrooms, nine kitchens, a restaurant and 19 bathrooms. It also has gardens exploding with flowers and two outdoor pools with panoramic sundecks.

The interior of the historic property is adorned with frescoes and furnished with antiques and period pieces.

Incredibly, all this is also offered at the set price of €1,500 ($1,590) a night, whatever the season.

The only stipulations are that you must book for at least three nights and bring a group of 50 people.

That’s already a good deal, but if you actually fill the village with guests, it works out as just €7.50 per person.

Get married in a hilltop hamlet in Italy

The offer has proved a popular choice for couples looking to get married in Italy. In fact, Petritoli has been nicknamed the Village of Weddings.

It’s not easy to find a property that can house a large number of guests without breaking the bank.

Petritoli is proving that you can have your dream dolce vita wedding without taking out a mortgage.

The village is advertised for rent by Group Accommodation.
