Fourth Disgaea 7 Character Trailer Presents Phantom Thief Seefour

Across the Hinomoto Netherworld, her thieving antics have earned her a certain degree of fame.

With the January 26 launch date little over a week away, Japanese developer Nippon Ichi Software has published the fourth character trailer for the upcoming strategy RPG Disgaea 7, this time presenting Seefour, the phantom thief. Previously in the series of character trailers, fans have been introduced to the warrior demon protagonist Fuji, otaku heroine Piririka, and lazy army general Wei-yasu, in order of appearance.

Seefour is the Hinomoto Netherworld’s very own resident phantom thief, according to today’s character trailer. Across the realm, her thieving antics have earned her a certain degree of fame. The citizens of the Netherworld affectionately refer to her as the Phantom Thief Mouse Girl. Like many phantom thieves before her, Seefour tends to keep her identity concealed beneath a masquerade mask.

Though she often seems flighty as a fruitbat, Seefour’s careless demeanor quickly escapes her whenever she comes into gunpowder. To Seefour, gunpowder is like catnip, and just one sniff of the stuff is enough to send her flying into a fanatically feverish state. When under the influence of gunpowder, Seefour becomes obsessed with explosions, so much so that her special attack involves her launching several bombs at once, each of them decorated with her trademark purple bow.

As a phantom thief, Seefour makes a point of stealing from only the Oedo Shogunate and its stakeholders. When Fuji and Piririka first meet with her, she appears to be occupied with tracking down sacred artefacts which, truth be told, seem suspiciously similar to the Seven Weapons of Origin that Fuji and Piririka are seeking. If the two are indeed one and the same is a question that may be answered as the plot of the game develops.

In Disgaea 7, Seefour will be voiced by Japanese voice actress Rina Kitagawa. Previous roles portrayed by Kitagawa include Lunafreya Nox Fleuret of Final Fantasy XV, and Jang Ha-ri in the Japanese dub of Korean Netflix series All Of Us Are Dead.

Disgaea 7 will launch on January 26 this year as Japanese exclusive for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. While previous entries in the Disgaea franchise have eventually made their way West, developer Nippon Ichi Software has yet to announce plans to release Disgaea 7 outside of Japan. The next character trailer in this series is set to be released on January 18, and will star one of the game’s antagonists, a mechanical clairvoyant by name of Suisen.
