Culminating a summer season abundant with legendary music acts like Diana Ross, Beach Boys, and Carlos Santana playing the shores of Atlantic City, Duran Duran will bring their sounds to Ocean Casino Resort on Sept. 23.
The recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees are bringing their Future Past Tour to the resort’s Ovation Hall on the first day of fall. Nile Rodgers & Chic joined the bill during Friday’s show at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
Known for their 1980s synth-pop hits “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Girls on Film”, and “Rio,” Duran Duran – which consists of Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, Roger Taylor and John Taylor – returns to “America’s Playground” less than a year after their last gig there. The band’s co-founder and bassist John Taylor says there’s a noticeable difference between the two shows.
“We were there right at the end of last year, as a matter of fact, [in] the thick of winter,” he told The Daily News. “So it’s going to be a very different kind of thing. And it’s a very different show because I feel that it was very much kind of like a holiday show almost. But this one is very much a concert tour.”
“We’ve been evolving this show around the ‘Future Past’ album, but it’s got a lot of very cool little moments in it,” he continued. “I’m excited. It’s actually the last date on this tour.”
The 15th studio opus from Duran Duran, co-produced alongside Mark Ronson, Giorgio Moroder and Erol Alkan, hit No. 1 on the U.K. Independent Albums chart upon its 2021 release.

Duran Duran’s 2022 concert film, “A Hollywood High,” hit the Paramount streaming platform as the new tour got underway. Taylor, 63, described the documentary as an “amazing” addition to the two-time Grammy Award-winning group’s legacy.
“I think as time passes, those significances become more apparent mostly because, like, you’re the last man standing,” he shared. “So, I guess we still kind of represent a period in the culture and in cultural evolution.”
The bassist said he’s looking forward to taking in the sights and sounds of Atlantic City during the final tour stop of the group’s 26 North American tour dates.
“I think that’s the privilege of traveling like this,” he shared. “We’re always looking for moments that are unique, that’s how you get to make documentaries, you know, because we’ve usually got somebody with us that says, ‘hey, you know, why don’t we got sit down at the boardwalk and do this video.’”

“Wherever we are, I think we do try to do that,” Taylor added. “You know, seeing the country that way. I mean, it is fast. You’re moving fast for sure. But it’s, it’s fantastic and I never really get tired of it. I have to say, it’s a real privilege to get to travel around the country in that way.”
