The 2022 BMW iX M60 electric performance SUV is due in Australia around July, priced from $222,900 plus on-road costs.

Sitting atop the flagship iX electric SUV range, the M60 variant is BMW’s most powerful electric production car – though buyers will pay for the privilege, with prices starting $53,300 higher than the xDrive50 Sport model below it.

Powering the car are dual electric motors and a 112kWh battery pack, which send 455kW and 1100Nm to all four wheels for a 3.8-second 0-100km/h sprint time, and 566km of claimed electric range.

It matches the iX xDrive50 Sport with 200kW DC fast charging, enabling a 10 to 80 per cent on a compatible public fast charger in as little as 35 minutes. Specifications for the rest of the iX range are included towards the bottom of this story.

Highlights of its standard feature list include 22-inch alloy wheels, M Sport brakes, a Bowers and Wilkins sound system, 14.9-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital instrument display, panoramic roof, laser headlights, adaptive air suspension, and rear-wheel steering.

Three interior colour schemes are available – Loft (with cloth/microfibre seats), Amido and Castanea (both with olive leaf-tanned leather) – all with Gold Bronze accents across the seats and switchgear.

A $3500 Comfort package is available for the iX M60, which adds heating for the steering wheel, front and rear seats, centre console armrest, front and rear door armrests, lower instrument panel, and upper door trim panels, plus front-seat ventilation.
